PLUS Architecture were appointed by CBRE, acting for a private investment consortium, to undertake design works to the Atrium Building in Sandyford, Dublin 14. The Atrium Building is the European Headquarters of Microsoft, who have been principle tenants in the Atrium under a 15 year lease, due to expire in 2015.
As Microsoft seek to enter into a new lease, their new tenant requirements, both generic (global) and specific to this location have been refined. PLUS Architecture are engaged by the building owner to determine all building refurbishment, extension and service upgrade requirements to enable Microsoft enter into the next lease phase.
The original building, dating from the late 1990’s is not substantially behind contemporary standards, as benchmarked in the 2009 BCO Standards and Microsofts own workplace standards. However, the occupier profile requires considerable analysis and upgrade to achieve environmental performance standards, LEED accreditation and provision of teleconferencing, training and meeting services necessary for an internationally connected workforce.
